Velma Bell

Velma P. Bell, 90, of Norwich, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Valley View Manor Nursing Home in Norwich.

Born June 22, 1922, in Norwich, Velma was the daughter of William and Ruby (Hibbard) Satterlee. She was a resident of Norwich most of her life and attended Norwich schools. She also resided for a time in Utica. Velma spent her life as a homemaker and raising her children. She also volunteered regularly for the Pink Door and Valley View Manor Nursing Home. Velma was an active member of the Disabled Veterans of America Auxiliary in Utica.

Velma is survived by nine children, 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three children and a sister.

To respect Velma’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or calling hours. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Steuben Corners Cemetery near Holland Patent, NY.
