Susan D. Dunham

Susan D. Dunham, 73, of Norwich, died on Monday, September 2, 2024 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. 

Born on October 17, 1950, in Norwich, Susan was a daughter of Cecil and Dorothy (Smith) Barrows. She attended school in Oxford and later moved to Norwich where she worked as a phone operator for the Chenango & Unadilla Telephone Company. Susan worked for many years at NBT Bank as the Personnel Clerk. Known locally as “the cake lady” Susan baked thousands of cakes for all occasions. She enjoyed sewing and loved her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Sidney W. Dunham, of Norwich; children, Audrey Morley and David Morley; step-children, Jon Dunham and Stefan Dunham; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Peggy Phillips, Barb Smith, David Barrows, Steve Barrows, Christopher Barrows, and Jerry Barrows. She was predeceased by her daughter, Amy Morley; step-daughter, Karen Dunham; and siblings, Juanita King, Christine Ryberg, and Cecil Barrows. 

A celebration of life for Susan will be held at a future date. Contributions in Susan’s memory may be made to the Sarah’s Guest House, 100 Roberts Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13207. 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the Wilson Funeral Home.
