Sharon L. Quinn

November 7, 1946 — June 30, 2024

Sharon L. Quinn, formerly of Norwich, NY, and more recently of Ballston Spa, NY, was called to be with our Lord on June 30, 2024, following a heart condition.

“All I am and all I hope to be, I owe to my mother.” – Abraham Lincoln

Born on November 7, 1946, in Delhi, NY, Sharon was a daughter of the late Charles Northup and Naoma (Merritt) Northup. She spent her childhood in Sidney, NY, and graduated from Sidney High School in 1964. Sharon married and moved to Norwich in 1968, where she raised her family. Over the years, Sharon worked for the Family Bargain Center, NorTogs, the Community Workshop, and for fifteen years as clerk at AMES, all with a friendly smile and patient and caring personality.

In 2009, Sharon moved to Ballston Spa to be near her family, where she found her passion watching her beloved grandchildren, especially when they danced. She enjoyed roller skating, playing bingo, and was very crafty. She was noted for her plastic canvas creations, holiday wreaths, and many crocheted projects. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Church in Norwich and was a current member of the Ballston Area Seniors Craft Group, where she loved to help others learn new crafts and projects.

Sharon is survived by her three children: David (Phoebe Howe) Quinn, of Norwich, Christina (Timothy, Jr.) Husvar, of Ballston Spa, NY, and Debra Quinn, of Sherburne; her former husband and the father of her children, Richard Quinn, Jr.; her grandchildren: Austin Quinn, Sidney (Dyllon Swanson) Quinn, Madison Husvar, and Kaelie Husvar; her siblings: Shirley Manchester, of Vacaville, CA, Jeanette (John) Rowe, of Norwich, and Charles Northup, of Norwich; and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings: Rose Bush, Patricia McDonald, and Julia Lewis  and a grandson, Jonathan.

A memorial service for Sharon will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 68 South Broad Street, Norwich, NY, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Friends are invited to the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will occur privately at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney, NY.
