“All I am and all I hope to be, I owe to my mother.” – Abraham Lincoln
Born on November 7, 1946, in Delhi, NY, Sharon was a daughter of the late Charles Northup and Naoma (Merritt) Northup. She spent her childhood in Sidney, NY, and graduated from Sidney High School in 1964. Sharon married and moved to Norwich in 1968, where she raised her family. Over the years, Sharon worked for the Family Bargain Center, NorTogs, the Community Workshop, and for fifteen years as clerk at AMES, all with a friendly smile and patient and caring personality.
In 2009, Sharon moved to Ballston Spa to be near her family, where she found her passion watching her beloved grandchildren, especially when they danced. She enjoyed roller skating, playing bingo, and was very crafty. She was noted for her plastic canvas creations, holiday wreaths, and many crocheted projects. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Church in Norwich and was a current member of the Ballston Area Seniors Craft Group, where she loved to help others learn new crafts and projects.
