Roger B. Storms, formerly of New Hartford and Norwich, NY passed away at Winter Haven, FL on December 29, 2022. Roger was born in Paterson, NJ on February 3, 1938 the son of Constance Coe and Stanley Storms. He graduated from New Hartford High School and attended Utica College of Syracuse University. Roger worked as the Office Manager of Smith Ford in Norwich, NY for 30 years.
Roger married Dale Canfield on January 13, 1962 in Utica, NY. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son; Brian H. Storms (Wendy) of Jamestown, NY; daughter, Bonnie LoPresti (Alan) of Earlville, NY; grandsons Austin Storms of Branford, CT, and Connor Storms of Jamestown, NY; and sister, Diane Farr (Duane) of New Hartford, NY.
Roger’s greatest achievements were in the world of curling. He along with his parents, Stan and Connie, won many curling events at the Utica Curling Club. He played the third position on the team from the Utica Curling Club that won the New York State Championship in 1961 and went on to place fourth in the National Curling Championships at Grand Forks, ND.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Sergeant, and he enjoyed golf, bowling, and cheering for his Cleveland Indians and Browns.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Norwich in 2023.
