Robert J. D’Angelo, 71, of Norwich and Sherburne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Born on May 31, 1952, Robert was the son of the late Peter and Loretta (Lantz) D’Angelo. Robert graduated from Mamaroneck High School and worked for his father at the Hampshire Country Club for many years. In 1989, Robert and his family relocated to Norwich where he found employment several places including the advertising departments at the Binghamton Press and the Evening Sun. He is most known for his long-time career at Smith Ford in Norwich.
Robert was a huge NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed fishing, vacations to Lake George and the Adirondacks and feeding his backyard birds and squirrels. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
In 1982 in New Rochelle, NY, Robert married the love of his life, Nancy Speruzzi, who survives. He is also survived by their three children, Robert D’Angelo, II, of Sherburne, Tiffany (Craig) Brewer, of Norwich, and Dominique (Bryan) LePage, of Norwich; two grandchildren, Maddox D’Angelo and Beau LePage; and brothers, Peter D’Angelo and Michael (Gisela) D’Angelo.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church, 16 Wylie Street, Hamilton, NY 13346, where the Rev. Jason Hage will officiate. Burial will occur at St. Paul’s Cemetery at a future date. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
