Paul A. Blydenburgh

Paul A. Blydenburgh, 68, of Norwich, died at his residence with family by his side on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Born on September 23, 1955, in Bay Shore, NY, Paul was a son of the late Emmanuel and Helen (L’Hommedieu) Blydenburgh. He grew up on Long Island and was a graduate of Deer Park High School in Deer Park, NY. Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Louisiana. Following Paul’s Honorable Discharge, he returned to Long Island and worked for Waldbaum's Supermarkets. Later in life, Paul earned a degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant where he worked for Life Care Nursing Homes in Citrus County, Florida until his retirement. Paul moved back to New York and married his wife, Priscilla (Andrea) Blydenbrugh, on July 5, 2008.

Paul enjoyed painting, fishing, and loved spending time with his family. He greatly enjoyed helping raise his grandsons.

In addition to his wife, Priscilla, Paul is survived by his children, Christopher (Jackie) Blydenburgh, of Florida, Patience (Robert) Demun, of Norwich, and Peter (Stephanie) Gennett, of Norwich; grandchildren, Shane, Alex, Liam, Austin, and Levi; and sister, Barbara (Vic) Pedone.

Services for Paul will be conducted privately. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted with the Wilson Funeral Home.
