Mary Rose Biviano

March 3, 1922 — July 21, 2022

Mary Rose Biviano, 100, a lifelong resident of Norwich, passed away peacefully at the home she and her husband built on Thursday, July 21, 2022, with her loving daughter by her side.

Born on March 3, 1922, Mary Rose was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Grace (Tesoriero) Liberatore. She attended the Norwich schools, then went on to work at the Norwich Knitting Mill. Beginning in 1952, Mary Rose worked at Norwich Pharmacal Co. before retiring from Procter & Gamble, in 1984. She was a communicant and active member of St. Bartholomew’s Church, and a member of Ave Maria/Rosary Society. Mary Rose was also a member of the Elks Club Auxiliary and the VFW Post 2782 Auxiliary. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking, and was especially known for her tasty meatballs and pies. Mary Rose adored animals, especially the several dogs she raised over the years and her more recent backyard chipmunk friend.

On April 26, 1943, at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Mary Rose married George R. Biviano. George died on February 11, 1999. Together they would have and raise their devoted daughter, Kathleen Mary Biviano (Sister Mary Bartholomew), who survives. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Mary Rose was preceded in death by each of her brothers, Joachim, Bartholomew, Anthony, and John Liberatore.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Rose will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the Church of St. Bartholomew, where the Rev. Frederick Mannara will officiate.
