Linda L. Orioli, 54, of Chenango Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. She left this life in the safety of her parents’ home in Virgil, NY.
Born July 7, 1962, in Cortland, NY, Linda was the daughter of Richard and Martha (Scott) Peer, each of whom survive. She graduated from Cortland High School with the Class of 1980. After graduation, she earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Upstate Medical School in Medical Laboratory Technology. She worked for a time in that field until devoting the rest of her life raising the two daughters she so cherished.
Linda’s talents and interests were almost too numerous to list. She had a beautiful singing voice, and loved to strike up a tune at family gatherings. Linda made the most delicious cheesecake and baked goods, was a skilled painter, loved music, and enjoyed searching for antiques. She adored her cats, and always remembered to send birthday wishes or other congratulatory notes to members of her extended family. Linda was also very fond of her time spent living on Chenango Lake.
Most of all, Linda was devoted to raising her daughters, Katie and Kristi, and took so much pleasure in exposing each of them to all sorts of adventures. Together they would attend concerts, take trips to various parts of the country, and make journeys to all sorts of local places. She wanted them to grow while learning about the many experiences and opportunities the world had to offer. She was a kind and loving mother.
Linda was also especially close to her mother and father, a bond that will live forever, and adored each of her sisters and their families.
In addition to her parents and daughters, Linda is survived by her sisters, Vicki (Gregory) Fuerst, of Avoca, NY, Diane (Charles) Corsi, of Cortland, and Denise (Michael) McCole, of Auburn, NY; nieces and nephews Andrew Fuerst, Carly (Joshua) Meacham, Bradley Fuerst, and Leah Fuerst and her fiancée, Brian Kidder, Paul and Erin Corsi, and Sean and Meghan McCole; and grandnephews Rhys and Cole Meacham. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
