Josephine A. Diefenbacher, 90, of Greene, NY, died on May 31, 2022 in Norwich with family by her side.
Josephine was born on April 7, 1932 in Norwich and was the daughter of Frank and Angelina (Natoli) Famolaro. She graduated from Norwich High School in 1950. Josephine worked at Greene Central High School as a library aid, for Chenango County in the assessor's office, and for the Syracuse City Schools in the accounts payable department.
On June 30, 1956, Josephine married Thomas A. Diefenbacher, at St Bartholomew's Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas on June 6, 1997, her parents, her brother, Joseph Famolaro, her sisters, Christine Foster, Jean Mary Famolaro, and Julia Marino, and her daughter-in-law, Anna Maria Diefenbacher.
Josephine was a member of both St. Bartholomew's Church, in Norwich, and The Immaculate Conception, in Greene. She loved to knit, enjoyed reading and doing word search puzzles. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
Josephine is survived by her children, Thomas A. Diefenbacher, Jr., of Bedminster, NJ, Margaret Diefenbacher, of Greene, NY, and Joseph (Diane) Diefenbacher, of Middlesex, NJ; her grandchildren, Jenna, Nicole, and Eva Diefenbacher, Tommy and Katie Delgado; her sister, Mary Ann Bodiot, of Norwich; her brother-in-law, Charlie Diefenbacher; her son-in-law, Tom Delgado, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Church of St. Bartholomew, where the Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor, will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home, in Norwich, on Friday June 3, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 4:45 p.m. prior to the calling hours. Burial will take place following the Mass in St. Paul's Cemetery.
