Jessie “Shona” Cahill – nee Tweedie, 92, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by her three daughters, son-in-law, John, and beloved granddog, Gracie Mae.
Born on February 18, 1932, in the Highlands of Nairn, Scotland, Shona was the middle of nine children. At the age of 20, she and her best friend ventured to America to embark on a new chapter in Brooklyn, NY. She worked on the 34th floor of the Empire State Building where one of her co-workers set her up on a blind date. That date turned out to be the love of her life, her husband Bill.
Shona is survived by her three daughters, Doreen (Tony) Villani, Heather (John) Carroll, and Maura (Michael) McGrath; four grandchildren, Bill, Kristen, Molly, and Meghan; youngest brother, James Tweedie, of Nairn, Scotland; along with several nieces and nephews and their families.
Shona was predeceased by her husband, Bill, in 1987, along with her brothers, Alec and Tommy; and sisters, Pat, Mary, Margaret, Betty, and Nancy.
A private burial will be held in the spring of 2025.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted with John Antonowicz of the Wilson Funeral Home.
