Hilda Herman

Hilda L. Herman, 87, formerly of Norwich, died on Thursday, December 27, 2012.

Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Hilda arrived in the United States in 1939. She lived in New York City before meeting her loving husband, Kenneth, who predeceased her. Together they moved to South New Berlin where they spent many years of happiness living on their dairy farm, and then in their Norwich home. Hilda was an avid gardener and enjoyed baking, playing bridge, baby-sitting and swimming at the Norwich YMCA. She shared her love of life with many friends and neighbors.

Hilda is survived by her daughter Ruth Horton, of Saratoga Springs, NY; son Paul (Cherry) Herman, of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren Erica Horton, Jacob (Erin) Herman, and Rachel Herman; and great-grandchildren Paul and Tobi Herman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at the Norwich Jewish Center. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
