George A. Brazee

George A. Brazee, 67, of New Berlin, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, June 28, 2021.

Born on October 17, 1953, in Norwich, George was the son of Ralph C. and Joyce E. (Harris) Brazee. After graduating high school, George enlisted in the United States Army. He served in our nation’s armed forces from 1972-74 prior to his honorable discharge. For 40 years, he operated his own trucking business, G.A. Brazee Trucking, of New Berlin. Most of his work was transporting goods all along the east coast. His trucking handle was “Peddle Pusher,” and he made lasting friendships wherever the road took him.

In his spare time, George trained and raced standardbred horses. He would race his horses at Monticello and Vernon Downs tracks, and at other fairs in the area. He was also a die-hard NASCAR fan and enjoyed hunting. He was a very trusting man, and would loan anyone he knew anything they needed to get by. He had a big heart, and adored his family.

George is survived by is daughters, Amber Homann, of New Berlin, and Jamie (David) Pirie, of Lisbon, NY; grandchildren, Kody and Jordan Homann, and David, William, and Regan Pirie; siblings, Ralph “Yogi” Brazee, of Burlington Flats, Myrna (Frank) Simmonds, of Smyrna, and Kitty (Mike) Wilcox, of Sherburne; companion, Judy Bice, of New Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Anna Platta, and sister-in-law, Linda Brazee.

A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Friday, July 2, 2021. George’s family and friends are invited to a celebration of George’s life at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021, at the Pittsfield Fire House.
