Francis E. “Frank” Carnachan, 70, of Norwich, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Born on February 23, 1952 in Troon, Scotland, Frank was the son of James and Anne (Kelly) Carnachan. After moving to the United States, he attended Norwich schools and graduated with the Norwich High School Class of 1971. He moved to Texas for a time to work in the oil field companies. In 1985, with his wife and children, Frank moved back to Norwich. He worked as an auto mechanic at Smith Ford and Norwich Auto Sales. Frank also helped many people with auto related jobs who were suffering hard times. He earned an associate’s degree from Morrisville State University and bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University. Frank worked as a auto mechanic teacher at DCMO BOCES in Norwich and The Children’s Home of the Wyoming Conference.
In 1974 Frank met the love of his life and began building their lives together. In 1975, in Ozona, Texas, Frank married his beloved wife, Doris (Daniels) Carnachan, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Sabrina Daniels, James Carnachan, Marlena (Frank) Gagner, Margo (Michael) Reynolds, and Deborah (Jason Kellogg) Carnachan; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Dibbie) Carnachan, Roz (Greg) Grosvenor, Scott (Kelly) Carnachan, and Kathleen Carnachan; and their dog Chica and cat Rosie. Though out his life, Frank has met many people who became friends and added love to his life.
To honor Frank’s wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours. Contributions in Frank’s memory may be made to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Food Pantry. Frank’s family will be honoring his life with a Spread the Love celebration at a later date for family and friends. Please continue to Spread the Love!
