Doris Vasile

Doris E. Vasile, 94, passed away at her residence in Norwich, NY, on Thursday, March 14, 2013.

Born June 28, 1918, in Framingham, MA, Doris was the daughter of LaBurton and Ethel (Grant) Stevens. On July 17, 1948, Doris married Eugene R. Vasile who predeceased her in 2006. Doris also lived for a time in Oceana, VA, where she enjoyed her work as a manager at a soda fountain. She was particular skilled at crochet and quilting.

Doris is survived by her daughter, LaBerta Finck of Norwich, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, William R. Finck Jr., of Bristol, VA, Diana M. Bare, of Watertown, NY, and Eugene R. Finck, and his wife, Bernadette, of Orange Park, FL. Also surviving Doris are her ten great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Sisters Kay F. Lanciault and June M. Andreola also survive.

To honor Doris’ wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours. Burial will take place at a later date near her place of birth in Milford, MA.
