Clarice M. (“Ci Ci”) Blood, 83, of Norwich, went home to God, on Friday, June 3, 2016, surrounded by her family and dear friends.
Beloved Ci Ci was born in Norwich, NY, on December 24, 1932, to Clarence and Teresa (McNulty) Angle. She attended King Settlement School in Norwich, and later worked at the Norwich Shoe Factory for a number of years. She enjoyed helping her husband, George, with Boy Scout Troop 62 projects and was formerly active with the Plymouth Fire Department Auxiliary, the United Way, and the Plymouth Reservoir Lake Association. Ci Ci loved fun and adventure; from snowmobiles to motorcycles, accordion to harmonica, waterskiing to softball, even taming wild animals. There was nothing she would not try. Ci Ci was a force of nature, living life on her own terms. If you told her she could not do something, she would do it and excel. Ci Ci was a gifted and talented woman whose friends and family have long enjoyed her cooking, paintings, and other handiwork. She was fiercely independent and loyal. Above all else, she was loving and devoted to her family.
Waiting for her in Heaven with big smiles and open arms were her beloved husband, George, her parents, and her sister, Catherine. She leaves behind her heart broken girls, daughter Sharon (Robert) Myers, of Oneida, granddaughter Renee (Duane) Havener, of Georgetown, and great-granddaughter Catherine Havener (Ben Danford), of Lake Elmo, MN. Also mourning this tremendous loss are her sister Diane (Bob) Adams, of South New Berlin, and sister Carin Furgison, of Madison Heights, VA. She was also blessed with amazing friends, and thoroughly enjoyed her shenanigans with Mel, Shirley, Carol, Rena, Jim, and many others over the years.
Ci Ci would like us all to know that we have a guardian angel watching over us now.
A memorial service for Ci Ci will be held at the Broad Street United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, where the Rev. Nancy Hale, pastor, will officiate. A private burial will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery. To honor Ci Ci’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Ci Ci’s memory to the Chenango County SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815, or to Chenango County Hospice, 21 Hayes Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
