Charlotte M. Guinn, 86, of Norwich, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at UHS Wilson Medical Center, in Johnson City.
Born on January 18, 1936, in North Pharsalia, Charlotte was the daughter of Kenneth and Meola (Smith) Law. She graduated from Oxford Academy & Central Schools. Soon thereafter, on December 9, 1962, Charlotte married William F. “Bill” Guinn. They were married 45 years until Bill’s passing on December 31, 2007. Together they would have a raise two children.
At the start of her working life, Charlotte worked at the Norwich Knitting Mill and then with Victory Markets. When she and her husband bought a dairy farm in Norwich, Charlotte stopped working at Victory Markets, became a stay-at-home mother, and helped her husband operate the dairy farm.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Michael Guinn, and his friend Kelly Brown, of Norwich, and Melissa Carnrike, and her husband, Ted, of Holtwood, PA; grandchildren, Megan, Keith, and Jared Carnrike; sister-in-law, Donna Guinn, of Norwich; brother-in-law, James (Linda) Guinn, of Norwich; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Rice; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Quincy and Bessie Brown; and brothers-in-law, Vernon Guinn, Carl Guinn, and Roy Guinn.
The family also expresses its sincere appreciation for the care provided to Charlotte by Cheryl and Cody Fairbanks during the last months of her life. They brought Charlotte much comfort during that time.
A memorial service for Charlotte will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Norwich, where Rev. Nancy Krembs will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in Charlotte’s memory may be made to Chenango SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
