Alice E. Romahn, 96, of South Daytona, FL, and more recently of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, with family by her side.
Born on August 27, 1919, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, Alice was daughter of George and Ragna (Neilson) Pedersen, of Norway.
Alice is survived by her children and their families, Paul Romahn, Norman Romahn and his wife, Martha, Elaine Romahn Woods, and Robert Romahn; grandchildren Kirsten Lynn Konsovitch, Bjorn Romahn, Erik Romahn, Karrie Ann McQuire, Amanda Lynn Utter, Melissa Marie Azzarello, Michael Ryan Woods, Shannon E. Woods, and Bobby Romahn; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Cliff Pedersen; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Helen. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Romahn; sister, Edith Pedersen Stonitsch; and brother, Gilbert Pedersen..
Alice was a friend to all.
She loved to dance with her husband, Paul, at any party, where they would take over the dance floor. Alice was an active member of the Sons of Norway and Royal Neighbors, and was very involved in the Citizens Alert in South Daytona, Florida. She loved volunteering for anything, especially for the hot dog truck during Bike Week every year to raise money for the organization. Alice, or Eleanor, as some called her, was a hard worker all of her life. She leaves behind many fond memories of all she has done for families and friends. Alice will be missed by many.
To honor Alice’s wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours.
