Diane Marie Windsor died on June 29, 2021, at the age of 74.
Born on December 9, 1946, she was daughter of Harold Breed and Isabel Myers Breed.
Diane was a Norwich native, attended local schools, and graduated from Norwich High School in 1965.
Afterward, she then worked for the Norwich Pharmacal Company until 1969 when she married Donald A. Windsor, who survives. They were married for 52 years.
Together they raised four children: Arthur Windsor (wife Debbie), Ellen Holtzman (husband Jason), Heather Tehan (husband Terry), and Aaron Windsor (wife Michele); all survive. Diane has four grandchildren: Jamie Holtzman, Jacob Holtzman, Jonathan Windsor, and Hannah Windsor; all survive.
Diane was predeceased by her father and by her brother David Breed. Her mother, Isabel Call, survives.
Diane was regaled for her superb cooking and enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She specialized in custom designed cake decorating. Her cakes were creative works of art. She taught cake decorating classes and chaired annual cake decorating exhibits. She also published articles in cake decorating magazines.
While the children were growing up Diane was active in supporting organizations: PTA, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts. When the children grew up and left home, Diane went to work for Byrne Dairy and became the manager. She retired in 2008.
In 2014, she suffered a stroke and became wheelchair bound. Her health progressively declined until the end.
Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The family requests facial coverings and social distancing during the visitation. A private burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Norwich.
