Concetta C. Lasswell

Concetta C. “Connie” Lasswell, 96, of South Plymouth, died on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Born on October 1, 1925, in Norwich, Connie was the daughter of Joseph and Rose (LoPiccolo) Mirabito. She graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT. During World War II, Connie worked for General Electric before moving back to Norwich to care for her grandmother.

Connie married Jesse J. Lasswell on April 26, 1947 in Nedrow, NY. Together, they briefly lived in Michigan before moving to Norwich in 1949. Connie worked for the Norwich Pharmacal Company in the records retention department until her retirement in 1983. In retirement, she cared for her many grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew’s Church. Connie enjoyed cooking and loved pets, especially her dogs.

Connie is survived by her children; Rosalind (John) Toshach, of St. Mary’s, GA, Andrea Ryan, of Norwich, Gina (Bruce) Williams, of Norwich, and Bernadette (Paul) Jackson, of South Plymouth; grandchildren, Karen (Scott) Eddy, Jason (Natasha) Cranston, Megan (Andrew) Cranston-Greer, Matthew Lasswell, Andrew Ryan, Danielle Williams, Briana Jackson, and Matthew (Brittany) Jackson; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sherry Lasswell; and brother, Albert (Eleanor) Mirabito, of Norwich. Connie was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Lasswell, in 2005; son, Martin Lasswell, in 2008; and son-in-law, Stephen Ryan, in 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Connie will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Church of St. Bartholomew, where the Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Contributions in Connie’s memory may be made to St. Bartholomew’s Church, 81 East Main Street, Norwich, NY 13815 or to the Norwich EMS, 31 East Main Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
