Annette C. Monday, 60, of Norwich, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at her residence with her loving family by her side, and after a long, courageous battle against cancer.
Born on July 4, 1961, in Norwich, Annette was the daughter of Ray and Anna (Johnson) Cook. Her father passed away when Annette was very young, in 1965, but was then blessed with being raised by her mother and step-father, Thomas J. Kennedy. Anna died in 2019, and Tom died in 2013. Annette was also predeceased by her siblings Earnest Cook, Victoria Hendrickson, Thomas Cook, Laurence Kennedy, and Thomas J. Kennedy III.
Surviving Annette is her beloved husband, Thomas Monday, daughters whom she adored, Nancy (Corey) Stone, of Syracuse, NY, and Colleen Monday and her fiancé, James O’Donnell, of Scarsdale, NY, and her precious grandson, Ethan Stone. She is also survived by her siblings, Jaqulin (David) Bowman, and Jane Cook (Bill Simmons); stepsister, Laini (Kitt) Amaritnant; and foreign-exchange “daughter,” Madhunisha Ravi. Several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive.
Annette graduated from Norwich High School with the class of 1979. After graduating high school, she earned an associate’s degree from Morrisville State College with a medical lab technician degree. On May 29, 1982, at St. Paul’s Church, in Norwich, Annette married Thomas Monday. During the first several years of her marriage, and after the birth of her children, Annette stayed at home to raise her daughters. Then, Annette worked in the Norwich City Schools as a teacher’s assistant for another dozen years. Her last place of employment, for nearly 15 years, was working at the front desk of the Norwich Family YMCA.
In her spare time, Annette enjoyed working on her family’s genealogy, making stained glass pieces, completing crossword puzzles – in pen – and painting. She also enjoyed traveling.
