Ralph E. Brown of Horseheads, NY, formerly of Troy, PA, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2018 in Norwich, NY. Ralph was born on July 13, 1932 in Troy, PA and was the second oldest of seven children.
Ralph served honorably in the U.S. Army and in the Korean War. Following his return home from Korea, Ralph worked as a draftsman for U.S. Steel in Elmira Heights, NY for 30 years until his retirement.
On July 6, 1957, Ralph married Claudia LeVon “Vonnie” Darrow and together they raised three children in Troy, PA. Ralph was an avid hunter and bowler.
Ralph is survived by his daughter; Misti Brown Moyer (David Wilson) of Canton, PA; his son Kelly Brown of Norwich, NY; step-daughter Sharon Seddon (Donnie) of Canton, PA; brothers Ted and Paul; sisters Shirley and Ollie; granddaughters Amber, Lindsay, and Sierra; step-grandchildren Hollie and Scott; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Vonnie, his sister, Phyllis, his brother, Jack. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Courtyards, Horseheads, NY, where Ralph made his home for the past five years, and to the staff of Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, Norwich, NY, who cared for Ralph since early April 2018.
At Ralph’s request, there will be no service. Private burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA, at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson Funeral Home, Norwich, NY. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.wilsonfh.com.
