Obituary for Josephine A. Tesoriere

Josephine A. Tesoriere, 90, a lifelong resident of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Chenango Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility.

Born on May 6, 1927, in Norwich, Josephine was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Paino) Tesoriere. She graduated with the Norwich High School class of 1945, then began working at F.W. Woolworth’s department store until the store was closed. She later began work at McLaughlin’s department store until she retired.

Josephine was an active member and communicant of St. Bartholomew’s Church. She liked to watch TV game shows, and very much enjoyed playing cards and playing bingo in locations all around Chenango County.

Josephine is survived by her sister Mary Heath and her husband, John, of Norwich. She was predeceased by her brother Anthony and sister Concetta (Connie).

A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the Church of St. Bartholomew, where Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the nursing home staff at Chenango Memorial for the wonderful care they provided to Josephine during her stay there. Contributions in Josephine’s memory may be made to St. Bartholomew’s Church Capital Campaign, 81 East Main Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
