Obituary for Frances A Kepner (Arria)

Frances A. Kepner, 92, of Norwich, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Chenango Memorial Hospital’s Residential Health Care Facility.

Born February 9, 1924, in Norwich, Frances was the daughter of Giuseppi and Rosalia (Tesoriero) Arria.

She was a 1942 graduate of Norwich High School and went on to work for Chenango County. She was a devoted member of St. Bartholomew’s Church and the Ave Maria guild. Fran loved to read and enjoyed the outdoors golfing and playing tennis and shuffleboard.

In 1966 she married J. William Kepner. They spent their years travelling throughout the US while keeping homes in Florida and Norwich. They cruised throughout the Caribbean and Mexico and made a very special trip in the 1970’s to visit her family in Italy. Fran and Bill had a very dear circle of friends they loved spending time with and they often enjoyed many of their trips with the whole gang. Bill predeceased her in 1994.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters Rose Crawford, Sarah Ciminata, Grace Quido, brothers John and Sancto Arria, and son Vern Bonacci. She is survived by her grandchildren Andrew Bonacci and Elisabeth (Bonacci) Caldwell, daughter-in-law Pamela Bonacci, sister Yolanda Bradford, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at St. Bartholomew’s Church with Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
