The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Christine Bates can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I am truly sorry for the loss and pain that the Bates, Wellman family and friends are feeling because of losing Chris recently in death. Most of us have had to endure the sorrow of losing a loved one in death. What helped me the most was prayer and faith in God's promises like found here at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 and it tells us: "And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing." God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises, including the resurrection. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40, John 11:23-25) Jehovah God, (Psalm 83:18), invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. You are in my prayers.

Condolence: nI have known Chris for many years and often saw her in town. Her bright smile, her love of her beagles, her positive attitude all brightened my day. Chris is one of those people who make living in this small town so worthwhile. She genuinely cared about others and went out of her way to recognize the importance of others. Chris was always very kind to me and I will always remember that.

Condolence: When my parents moved our family to Norwich in 1981,one of my first memories was of going to the Howard Johnson's for breakfast. Christine's smiling face and warm greeting were a blessing to me and made me feel like everything would be alright. After i got married and moved far away, she was a delight to see every time I came back into town. Her bright smile and warm and kind personality will never be forgotten. God bless your family at this difficult time.
