D. Elizabeth “Betty” Tyler, 93, formerly of Springvale Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born August 24, 1916 in Franklin, NY, Betty was the daughter of Bruce and Pearl (Woodard) McNeilly. She left school early to help care for her grandmother and later returned to finish her schooling in Franklin. She began working at a restaurant in Sidney and remained in the restaurant business the rest of her career, retiring in 1978 from the former Blue Bird Restaurant in Norwich.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading and crosswording.
On July 13, 1969, in Franklin, Betty married Louis W. Tyler who died February 16, 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Marian Beckwith (Earl) Bailey of Scranton, PA, a step-daughter, Kathleen (Marcos) Restrepo of Norwich, a step-son, Thomas (Deborah) Tyler of Norwich, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a great granddaughter.
Betty requested no formal funeral services. Burial will take place in Oleout Cemetery in Franklin.

My sister in law and my daughters aunt will be greatly missed. Funny we were just reminescing the other day about “Give it to her ibby” about her love for horses and dogs . Bob and I spent a great deal of time with Elizabeth, horseback riding and square dancing. There were no secrets with Elizabeth , she told it like it was , we loved her and will greatly miss her, she almost made it longer than her mom . See you in the new syatem Elizabeth . I would personally like to thank all of her children for all they did while she was left with out louis . I love you , Rosie and Kelly
